TVP patties Brown 2 cup TVP granules in a pan along with 1 /2 t. each oregano, marjoram, and garlic powder and a t. or two of your favorite bouillion powder. Mix with 3/4 cup hot water, 1 T. of ketchup. Let stand for 10 minutes. Add: 1/4 cup grated carrot, grated sweet potato or grated pumpkin 1/4 cup finely copped celery 2 T finely chopped green onion 2 T parsely, finely chopped. lots of minced garlic cloves Stir in: 1/2 cup instant gluten flour or 1/4 cup whole wheat flour or 1 egg Press mixture firmly into six patties, about 4 inches wide, using 1/2 cup of the mixture for each patty. Heat 2 T. oil in skillet. Fry patties for 8-10 minutes on aside over medium low heat until browned. I like to sprinkle a little bit of ginger and lemon juice on the browned side after I flip them. Flipping them takes some practice, and you will get some that crumble. We mix the crumbled bits up with mayo and relish and mustard for a TVP salad spread. Printable version: tvp-burgers03.txt.
