Recipe Archives->Vegetarian->Tofu Patties
Tasty Tofu Patties 300 gms firm tofu 1 small onion, finely chopped 2 tblspns savoury yeast flakes (health food stores) 1 tblspn soy sauce 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans 1/4 tspn garlic salt 2/3 cup quick oats oil for frying Mash tofu well with a fork or process lightly in a food processor. Add remaining ingredients except oil and mix well. Shape into patties (an icecream scoop makes it easy). Heat oil in a frypan on medium heat and gently fry each side for 6-7 minutes until browned. If your tofu is very dry you may need to add some water/milk to the mix to help it hold together. Can serve with a satay type sauce to dip them in or with salad etc. Printable version: tofu-patties.txt.
