Okara Loaf 2.5 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 cups toasted wheat germ 1 large clove garlic, minced 1/2 tsp dried oregano 1 tsp dried basil 1/2 tsp dried savory (or thyme) 1/4 tsp black pepper 2 1/2 cups okara 1/3 cup veg oil 3 T tamari 2 T honey 2 T vinegar 1/2 cups soymilk Combine first bunch of ingredients in one bowl. Combine second bunch in another bowl. Combine contents of two bowls. Place mixture into a greased loaf pan. Cover with foil and steam on a wire rack over boiling water in a big pot, or in oven (350F) with pan of water on lower rack. Cook about 1 hour. Cool in pan, remove from pan. Store in fridge one week or freeze up to six months. Printable version: okara-loaf.txt.
