Baked Soybeans

Savory Baked Soybeans
serves 6

2 c. dry soy beans
2 qts. water
2 c. tomato sauce
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped (optional)
1 clove garlic, minced
1 t. dry mustard
2 t. chili powder (optional)
2 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
2 T. dark molasses

Soak soybeans in water overnight or by quick method.  Cook slowly
3 hours, or until tender.  Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

Combine remaining ingredients with beans.

Bake in large uncovered casserole at 300F for 3 hours, adding water
if necessary.  Stir occasionally.

Can also be made in a slow cooker.
