Creamy Cabbage 4 cups shredded cabbage 1/2 cup diced bacon 1 Tbsp flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp paprika 1/8 tsp pepper 1 cup milk 1 cup soft bread crumbs In a large saucepan, cook cabbage for 7 minutes in boiling water. Drain. In a skillet, cook bacon. Remove bacon and all but 1 Tbsp drippings. Add flour, salt, paprika and pepper to drippings. Gradually add milk. Simmer and stir until thickened. Place cabbage in a 1 quart casserole. Top with sauce. Sprinkle bread crumbs and bacon over the top. Bake at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes. Printable version: creamed-cabbage04.txt.
