Saffron Beans 1 3/4 pounds yellow wax beans 2 1/2 cups water 2 1/2 cups vinegar 1 1/3 cups sugar 1/4 cup salt saffron cloves Clean and trim the beans, pack them lengthwise into pint jars. In each jar put 2 whole cloves and about a half-dozen threads of saffron. After mixing the water, vinegar, sugar and salt, bringing them to a boil, pour them over the beans (about 4 pints) and BWB for 10 minutes. Printable version: saffron-beans.txt.
