Plum BBQ Sauce 5 lbs. plums, washed, pitted, quartered 3 c. apple juice 1 c. red wine vinegar 2 c. chopped onions 3 cloves garlic, minced 1/4 c. lemon juice 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce 1 1/2 c. dark molasses 1 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard 1/4 c. cider vinegar 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. black pepper 1 tsp. crushed red pepper 1 tsp. ground ginger In large pot, combine plums, juice, red wine vinegar, onions, garlic and lemon juice. Cook over medium-high heat until plums soften and mixture boils. Puree mixture in food processor and return to pot. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a full boil. Simmer 1 - 1 1/2 hours on med-low until thickened, stirring frequently. Process 20 minutes in boiling water bath. I was able to make 5 1/2 pints with this recipe.
