Pear and Cranberry Crumb Pie 5 cups peeled and cored pears, cut into 1-inch pieces 1/4 cup sugar (or to taste) 1 tablespoon butter, melted 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries 1 teaspoon cinnamon 10-inch baked pie crust 1/3 cup sugar 1/3 cup light brown sugar 1 1/4 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted Mix pears, sugar and butter. Add in cranberries and cinnamon, tossing to coat pears. Spoon into prepared crust. Combine sugars, flour and cinnamon. Add butter and toss until butter is distributed and mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle crumbs over pie. Bake at 375F for 10 minutes. Reduce temp to 325F and continue baking for another 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and pears are tender when pierced with a fork. Let pie cool for at least 1 hour before cutting. Serves 8. Printable version: pear-cran-crumb.txt.
