Sour Cherry Pot Pie pie crust dough 1 quart pitted sour cherries 1 cup sugar 1 pint water 2 tablespoons butter Make pie crust dough. Add a bit of sugar to the dough. Cut into squares (about 2"x2"). In a stovetop saucepan, cook the cherries, sugar, water, and butter. Remove the cherries from the liquid, keeping the liquid in the saucepan. Add a layer of dough squares to that liquid. Add a layer of cherries. Add another layer of dough squares, then cherries, etc. Cook on top of the stove until done. Serve with ice cream or milk. Printable version: cherry-potpie.txt.
