Zucchini Ziti

1/2 cup minced onion
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup minced green pepper
1 1/2-2 pounds zucchini, sliced
3 cups peeled, seeded, and chopped tomatoes  
1 teaspoon salt  
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 can (4 ounces) sliced mushrooms, undrained  
1  pound ziti or other short pasta 

Saute onion in hot butter for 2 minutes.  All all other ingredients
except ziti.  Cover and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes,
stirring frequently.  Zucchini slices should be tender, but still
preserve their shape.  Serve on hot cooked ziti.  Makes 6 servings.
