Baked Macaroni Yield: 6 servings 16-ounce can tomato sauce 1 cup water 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 1/2 pounds low-fat cottage cheese 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 8-ounce package elbow macaroni, uncooked 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, sliced In a small bowl, combine tomato puree water, Italian seasonings and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. In another bowl, combine cottage cheese, onion powder and remaining garlic powder. Spray a 9 x 9 x 2-inch casserole dish with vegetable cooking spray and spread 1/3 of tomato mixture in dish. Layer half the macaroni, all the cheese mixture, and a third of the tomato mixture. Add remaining macaroni and cover with remaining tomato mixture. Cover and bake at 350 F for 1 hour. Uncover and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake uncovered until cheese melts, about 5 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Printable version: baked-macaroni.txt.
