Icebox Shortbread

1 lb. butter, room temperature
3/4 cup icing sugar
3 egg yolks
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
1 1/2 cups red and green cherries, halved

Cream butter and sugar.  Add flour gradually until soft dough is
formed.  Stir about 2 Tbsp. flour with the cut cherries and add to
mixture.  Mix well.  Carefully roll into 1 1/2" - 2" oblong rolls.
Wrap with wax paper, place in a pan and refrigerate or freeze until
ready to bake.

To bake, cut into 1/4" slices and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Do not overbake.
