Quik Tropical Cake 1 pound cake 5 egg whites & 3 egg yolks 4 cups sugar 3/4 cups water 1 stick butter 1/2 cup Nestle's Chocolate Quik Almonds, Slivered (optional) Cream the butter, add the egg yolks and the chocolate. Reserve. Make a caramel sauce with the sugar and water. Beat the whites until they make stiff peaks and add the caramel sauce. Beat well and add to the butter mixture. Cut the pound cake in small 1" pieces and layer in a pyrex starting with the cream, and then the pound cake, finishing with the cream. Garnish with almond slivers.
