Boiled Passionfruit and Orange Fruit Cake
 
1/2 c strained passionfruit juice (7-8 passionfruit)
500g mixed dried fruit
1/4 c orange juice
1 c sugar
125 g butter
3 eggs, beaten
3/4 c flour
3/4 c self-raising flour
1 tsp mixed spice

Mix juices, fruit, sugar and butter in saucepan and stir over low
heat until sugar is dissolved.   Simmer uncovered 3 min.   Cool in
large bowl.

Sift dry ingredients and add to mixture with eggs.  Mix well.

Bake in lined 20cm cake tin 1 1/2 hours in moderately slow (say
165 C) oven.   Cool in pan.   Keeps 1 week.

For the icing I would just mix icing sugar and passionfruit pulp
to an appropriate consistency.

If you want something simpler, just make a standard butter pound
cake or madiera cake and add the pulp of about four passionfruit
to replace the liquid.   Same icing.
