Lightning Cake (Hot Milk Cake)

2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup hot milk
1 tablespoon butter or margarine

Set the oven at 375.  Butter a square pan 8 by 8 by 2 inches. Beat
until thick the eggs and vanilla.

Beat in sugar a little at a time.

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and stir into egg
mixture.

Heat milk and butter.  Stir into the first mixture and beat 1 minute
or until smooth.  Pour into the pan.

Bake about 25 minutes.
