Eggless Milkless Butterless Cake

2 tablespoons margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup water or fruit juice
1 cup raisins

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup cherries or dates, chopped

Put margarine, brown sugar, water, and raisins in a pot and bring
to boil, stirring constantly.  Remove from heat and let cool.  Then
flour, cinnamon, ginger, soda, salt, nuts and cherries or dates.

Mix all ingredients together and put into greased loaf pan or 8
inch square dish.  Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F.
