Coffee Cake
1/2 pound butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs, room temperature
1 1/2 cups cake flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sour cream
1 cup brown sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 325F. Butter a 13x9x2 glass baking dish and lightly
dust with flour.
Cream butter and sugar together, then beat in the three eggs.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
Add dry ingredients into the sugar mixture alternately with sour
cream. Mix on low until batter is smooth.
For filling, combine brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts.
Put half of batter in greased baking pan. Place half of the filling
on the batter. Cover filling with remaining batter. Top with rest
of filling. Bake for 1 hour at 325F or until cake tests done.
