Zopf
 
2 1/4 tsp yeast
3 cups bread flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
4 Tbsp butter
3/4 cup warm water
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
  
1 large egg white, beaten with 2 pinches salt
  
All ingredients must be room temperature. Add all (except egg
wash) to the pan. Set machine on dough/manual setting. At the end
of program, remove dough and let rest 5 minutes before shaping.

Divide dough into 3 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 16-in long
rope. Lay on a lightly grease sheet next to each other. Braid dough
and pinch the ends together. Tuck under. Cover with a clean kitchen
towel and let rise 'till doubled in size, about 1- 1 1/2 hrs. Set
aside.  

Preheat oven to 375F. Prepare egg wash. Brush on braid.  Wait 5
min and brush again. Let dry 15 minutes. Bake 30 or until golden
brown, remove from oven and cool on wire rack.
